Preservation Howard County’s mission is to advocate for the preservation and public awareness of Howard County’s historic assets.  As such, our board is currently reviewing the five-year strategy to mitigate flooding in Ellicott City that was announced by Howard County Executive Allan Kittleman and Councilmember Jon Weinstein on August 23, 2018.  Preservation Howard County is not taking a position on the plan at this time.  We look forward to being part of the public conversation about any and all strategies and any related legislation as it moves forward.  Further, we recognize that four dedicated Howard County preservationists have been named to the Ellicott City Historic Structures Committee. We acknowledge the importance of our members acting as individuals in their role as preservationists and appreciate their contributions.
